After experiencing a downfall in the economy during 2009, Small to medium enterprises are becoming little more careful when spending on marketing activities. I had been working in the online markeing industry for over 6 years now and helping small businesses by utilizing the best features of online marketing. While reading the post on emarketer (www.emarketer.com), I had understood that SME managers or owners will become more opitmisitc towards social media in 2010. Look at survey results in the below image, it clearly says that if the business manager combines usage of social media marketing and email marketing it would give high ROI (Return on Investment) compared to other advertising mediums. (Look at the above image carefully, it says Search engine marketing is on third rank, interesting huh?)
If we blend social media and email marketing well, it would give the gretest results for the business. If you want the proof of the same, go through the image below which clearly says that approx. 27% of total 1,057 business executives or business development managers had already formulated and implemented the marketing strategy with social media and email marketing tools. What are you waiting for?
Email Marketing: E-mail marketing is a form of direct marketing which uses electronic mail as a means of communicating commercial or fundraising messages to an audience. In its broadest sense, every e-mail sent to a potential or current customer could be considered e-mail marketing. (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-mail_marketing)
Social Media Marketing: Social media marketing is a term that describes use of social networks, online communities, blogs, wikis or any other online collaborative media for marketing, sales, public relations and customer service. Common social media marketing tools include Twitter, blogs, LinkedIn, Facebook, Flickr and YouTube. (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_media_marketing)
Hope this post will help Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) owners or Business Development Managers to formulating rock solid marketing strategy for 2010!
